Hello and Welcome!

My name is Shannon; I’m 27 years old, living in beautiful San Diego with my BMX’n Texan husband, where we seek to follow Christ together.
I hope to do a few things well with the help and grace of God, namely: encourage others with my words, have a Christ-centered marriage, make our home a sanctuary, and be a light in this world.

favorite books:

C.S. Lewis’ Surprised by Joy  and The Great Divorce
Flannery O’Connor’s Everything That Rises Must Converge

favorite quotes:

“It was as though the voice which had called to me from the world’s end were now speaking at my side… That night my imagination was, in a certain sense, baptized; the rest of me, not unnaturally, took longer.”
(C.S. Lewis, Surprised by Joy)

“God is a zealous pruner,
for He knows-
who, falsely tender
spares the knife,
but spoils the rose.”
(John Oxenham)

“Our life contains a thousand springs
and dies if one be gone;
Strange! That a harp of a thousand strings
should keep in tune so long.”
(Isaac Watts)

“If I ever do get to be a fine writer, it will not be because I am a fine writer but because God has given me credit for a few of the things He kindly wrote for me…I want to be the best artist it is possible for me to be… Dear God, please help me to be an artist; please let it lead to You…by God’s grace it will wake another soul…”
(Flannery O’Connor, A Prayer Journal)

“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”
(Antoine de Saint Exupery)
